90+ JG. "These days, Chasse-Spleen is clearly one of the most exciting of the traditionalists to be found in all of Bordeaux. The 2007 Chasse-Spleen is another very well-made and classic bottle of claret, which was raised in thirty-five percent new oak this year and which will prove to be a lovely middleweight with a few years in the cellar. The nose offers up a deep and classy mélange of cassis, black raspberries, tobacco leaf, lovely soil tones, smoke and a very delicate touch of new wood. On the palate the wine is deep, fullish and impressively complex, with lovely focus, fine mid-palate depth, very refined tannins and lovely length and grip on the poised and classically reserved finish. A really lovely example of the vintage." John Gilman, View From the Cellar, Jan/Feb 2010, Issue #25 |
