95 JG. "The 2006 Montée de Tonnerre offers up a beautiful kaleidoscope of minerality on both the nose and palate, and it too will be a legendary vintage for this great premier cru. The bouquet soars from the glass in a blaze of apple, tart orange, flint, spring flowers and a myriad of other mineral scents. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, very tight and very young, with grand cru austerity, a rock solid core, a powerful attack and an absolute bath of minerality on the backend. The finish is long, extremely racy and utterly profound. Brilliant wine." John Gilman, View From the Cellar, Nov/Dec 2007, Issue #12 |
