93+ JG. "The 2008 Les Cailles is a stellar wine in the making, and it was simply singing at the time of my visit. The bouquet is deep, very pure and classy, as it offers up scents of red and black cherries, great minerality, woodsmoke, gamebirds, gentle nutty tones and a deft touch of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, very pure and quite closed, with great mid-palate depth, fine-grained, substantial tannins and a very long, soil-driven and tangy finish. Really outstanding backend grip." John Gilman, View From the Cellar, Nov/Dec 2009, Issue #24 |
