Lot #150. Domaine Leroy Romanée-Saint-Vivant 1996

Description: Consists of 1 Bottle, 0.75L
Score: 92 AM.
A drop dead gorgeous aromatic profile of clove, anise, hoisin, soy and jasmin and plenty of now largely secondary fruit aromas lead to rich, full, sweet and dense medium full flavors that are supple but detailed on the mid-palate and ultra complex, intense and highly persistent finish. This is already a delicious wine yet there is still some modest future development to come - it should be capable of another 20 years of cellar time, perhaps more. Moreover, while the '96 RSV is not an especially dense wine by the impressive standards of Domaine Leroy, it is an exceptionally dense wine in the context of the vintage. Multiple and consistent notes. Allen Meadows, Oct 14, 2010
Provenance: The Sea Cliff Cellar
Notes: 3cm, lightly scuffed capsule, label stamped with "From the Cellar of Mark Andrew Levitt".
