Lot #1239. Georges Roumier Bonnes-Mares 1971

Description: Consists of 1 Bottle, 0.75L
Score: 97 AM.
"I have had the pleasure of having this many times over the years but this bottle was the best that I have ever had, even besting this wine from two magnums. This is a serious wine of huge proportions with a lush, opulent, ripe and mature nose of spice and dried rose petals that evidences absolutely no signs of sous bois or over ripeness. The big, robust and muscular flavors are classy, refined and still solidly structured though the tannins are buried beneath all of the extract and all of this immense depth is wrapped in huge length. This will drink well for another 20 years if properly stored as it is a monument, but for all of its size and punch, it possesses superb balance. In a word, brilliant. Multiple and . . . consistent notes." Allen Meadows, Burghound.com, Oct 2011
Provenance: The Farallon Cellar
Notes: 1 x 4cm, lightly scuffed and lightly corroded capsule, lightly scuffed, lightly wine stained, lightly bin soiled, signs of slight past seepage.
