Lot #611. Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Romanée-Saint-Vivant Marey-Monge 1972

Description: Consists of 2 Bottles, 0.75L
Score: 93 JG.
"To the best of my knowledge, 1972 is one of the first vintages of RSV that was bottled under the DRC label. The wine is a superb example of both the vintage and the vineyard, soaring from the glass in a blaze of red berries, cherries, orange zest, a bit of quince cocoa powder, cinnamon stick sous bois, woodsmoke, a great base of soil tones, cedary wood and a topnote of roses. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, deep and intensely flavored, with a juicy core of red fruit, lovely spice tones, and excellent length and grip on the refined and tangy finish. This is a 1972 in full bloom, with years and years of life ahead of it. Outstanding wine." John Gilman, View From the Cellar, May/Jun 2006, Issue #3
Provenance: The Sea Cliff Cellar
Notes: 1 x 3cm, 1 x 3.5cm, lightly scuffed and wrinkled capsules, #05042, 05044.
