93 WA. "It has a wild balsamic nose of eucalyptus, rosemary, thyme, lavender, nutmeg, cola, quinine and some notes of vermouth (make that a Barolo Chinato!). David tells me that this nose comes from the Graciano, but I have not found it in other Gracianos. The lively palate has bright acidity (pH is 3.1 with almost 8 grams of acidity!), clean flavors, great persistence and length. A wine of strong personality, one of those love-it or hate-it wines. 3,000 bottles were produced." Wine Advocate #210, Dec 2013 |
