"Saturated violet. Explosively aromatic, complex nose melds fresh and dried strawberry, raspberry preserves, kirsch, fresh rose, lavender and cola. Deep and sweet but at the same time energetic and focused, with mineral-accented raspberry and crystallized cassis flavors, fine-grained tannins and a zesty white pepper note. Vibrant, primary berry fruit defines the wonderfully long finish. I was extremely impressed, even giddy over the multiple personalities offered by this set of wines: they reminded me, again, why pinot noir is so damn much fun." Vinous, May 2007 |
